Blackwood opens up several famous locations related to Oblivion.īlackwood continues the year-long Gates of Oblivion special event for The Elder Scrolls Online. Players will be able to meet, recruit, and customize specialized NPCs to fight alongside them in their adventures. The update introduces Oblivion Portal World Events, a few quality-of-life additions, and a Companions system similar to most single-player Elder Scrolls games. It takes players to 800 years before the events of Oblivion, a long time before the death of Emperor Uriel Septim VII.

The DLC’s story follows the schemes of the Daedric Prince Merhunes Dagon, the big bad evil guy from Oblivion. The Elder Scrolls: Blackwood launches on PC on June 1 and on consoles on June 8.

Blackwood adds around 30 hours of story and new companions for players to meet and fight with. Blackwood will launch on separate dates in mid-2021 for PC and consoles but Bethesda promises an exciting new story regardless of the platform. The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood, the latest DLC, takes place before the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Bethesda revealed the next step for its sprawling online game.
